About Westwego Ernest J. Tassin Senior Citizen Center
The City of Westwego’s Ernest J. Tassin Senior Center is the hub of excitement, education, and support for the senior citizens in Westwego. The center provides a full schedule of programs and activities at the center and around Jefferson parish. These activities include, but are not limited to: bingo, bean bag baseball, darts, Pedro, computer classes, line dance classes, puzzle time, video aerobics, excursions, and much more! Anyone wishing to participate can pick up a calendar at the center located at 701 Fourth Street. The Westwego Senior Center participates in the Jefferson Council on Aging’s nutrition program. This program offers hot lunches at the center or delivered to the home for homebound seniors. You must be interviewed by JCOA before you are eligible to receive meals. If you need assistance with transportation to the doctor, contact the senior center. This service is provided by the City of Westwego for its seniors.
