We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

Accounts and Signing In

You can use this site without an account. An account is needed to claim or manage a listing, add a listing, or add photos.

• Accounts: an account is created the first time you sign in with a code we email you. We store your email address and, if you give them, your name and a password (stored only as a secure hash). We record when you sign in, how many times you have, and the IP address the account was created from.
• Sign-in codes: when you ask to sign in, we email a six-digit code to that address. It works once and expires after 15 minutes, and we store it only in a form that cannot be read back. With each request we record the email address, the time, your IP address and your browser details, so we can stop abuse of the sign-in form.
• Corrections, claims and listing updates: when you suggest a correction, claim a listing or send an update as its manager, we keep what you proposed, your email address if you gave it, any note or statement you add, your relationship to the listing, and the IP address and browser details the request came from, so a moderator can review it and we can deal with spam and abuse.
• Listing managers: if a moderator approves your claim, we record which listings your account manages.
• Help from an administrator: to help with a support request, a site administrator can view the site signed in as your account for up to 30 minutes. Each time this happens it is recorded, including which administrator did it.

We use this information to sign you in, to review changes before they appear on a listing, and to protect our forms from spam and abuse. Sign-in codes are sent through our email delivery provider, and Cloudflare checks the sign-in and suggestion forms for automated abuse. We do not sell this information.

How Long We Keep It

• Sign-in requests (the email address, time, IP address and browser details) are deleted 30 days after the code expires.
• The IP address an account was created from is removed after 90 days. The account itself is kept until you ask us to delete it.
• When a correction, claim or listing update has been decided, we remove the email address, IP address, browser details and any note you typed after 180 days; we keep what changed on the listing and who approved it.
• Messages sent through our contact form: we remove your email address and IP address 180 days after we have dealt with the message.
• Reviews: we remove the email address and IP address stored with a review one year after it was last moderated or changed. The review and the name shown with it stay public.
• Our audit records keep the action and when it happened permanently, but their IP addresses and personal details are removed after one year.
• Error records are kept for 90 days, and web server access logs for about two weeks.
• Deleted information can remain in our encrypted backups for up to 31 days, or up to six months in a monthly backup.

You can ask us to delete your account and what you have sent us at any time using the contact form.

Cookies

We use "cookies" on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.

Some of our business partners may use cookies on our site (for example, advertisers). However, we have no access to or control over these cookies.
