Overview
The Abbey was established in 1974 by the Elmhurst Park District as a leisure center for active, older, fun-loving adults in the community. In addition to providing a variety of exciting leisure activities for seniors, The Abbey provides social service programs such as financial assistance, income tax preparation, informational seminars, health checks, flu shots and more. In addition, The Abbey is available for evening and weekend rentals.

Membership and Fees
An Abbey membership ensures “lifetime enjoyment”’ with recreational programs and opportunities meeting the social and educational interests of adults aged 62 and older. Membership benefits include having the Abbey Newsletter mailed to your home and being able to register for Abbey programs over the phone. In addition, Abbey members receive $5 off monthly luncheon fees and can participate in the Bingo program at no charge. Abbey members also receive special “members only” discounts at participating area businesses and member pricing on select Abbey programs and trips. Abbey Membership dues are $25 for residents, and $35 for non-residents.
