Swain County Senior Center

My experience is that the Swain Senior Center is not a warm, friendly, welcoming place to go. If the staff comes into the room, they don’t speak to the attendees but seem to be looking down their noses at us. The food server doesn’t smile or offer a greeting other than something like, “Do you want a meal?” The attendees have their groups and don't take kindly to newcomers. Yes, I tried to participate in conversations by nodding or smiling or making a short comment without pushing myself into the conversations. I’ve gone different times before and after COVID, and I always feel worse when I leave than I did when I got there.
