Overview
The Stewartstown Area Senior Center served its first luncheon on March 25, 1974 under Lutheran Social Services. The York County Area Agency on Aging (YCAAA) took over in 1984 and encouraged centers to become independent. As of July 1, 2006, the YCAAA stopped funding our Center and we then incorporated on March 18, 1983 and a Board of Directors was formed. In 1984, the Stewartstown UM Church built an addition to their building on ground level, and the Senior Center moved into what is called, “Heritage Hall”. The Stewartstown Senior Center is just one of approximately 525 sites in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania’s senior community sites are a part of more than 5,180 locations nationwide. We encourage all seniors, 60 years of age or older, to stop in and visit us, see what we are all about!
