About South Philadelphia Older Adult Center
A community center for senior citizens that has been a refuge and beacon of information for neighborhood families since 1979. The center offers nutritional lunches, information (health, social and medical) and education from professionals’ in pharmacology, cardiology, visiting medical students, and numerous representatives of various fields to bring a better understanding of healthier choices for families and their senior members. For a small fee, members can dance, play bingo, pokeno, take day trips, play pool, cards and games. Improve your health with our exercise classes: Silver Sneakers, yoga, Zumba, tai chi, chair, Enhanced Fitness and line dancing. Take art lessons, music lessons, sing, join the glee club, watch current movies or just socialize. Explore dormant talents and create new ones. Create art in an environment of acceptance and encouragement. Make new friends and enjoy the old ones. Learn new things and discover a new you! It is never to late to grow and reinvent yourself.
