The Meals on Wheels Community Center is a valuable resource to keep all people in our community active and to promote healthy aging. Our programs, classes, and activities can also raise your quality of life and be fun and enjoyable. Most programs are free, but some may have a small fee. The MOWCC features a large dining room, a library, rooms used for exercise classes and activities, conference rooms for club meetings, games and crafts, and more. Many of these rooms can be rented for private use. The entrance of the building offers a peaceful outdoor space and a little Free library to enjoy socializing in nature. Independent, certified instructors from Pacific Grove Adult School and the private sector, teach classes in fitness, literature, dancing, and hobbies. The Community Center hosts holiday celebrations and theme parties as well as special events and quarterly member dinners. Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula partners with other nonprofit agencies and members of the community to offer classes, lectures, and legal services for seniors, as well as other one-on-one services. These activities help seniors and their families navigate the formal and informal social service networks available from state and federally-funded agencies. Socialization is the most important activity that takes place during these activities, classes, parties, meals, and conversations in public areas. More than 30 activities are available to our members and community neighbors per week.
