For people age 55 or over, the Senior Center in downtown Rio Vista is a focal point of the community. Our Goals: Consistently seek to identify and understand the interests and needs of seniors in our community; Expand activities, programs, and services for seniors; Increase participation in Senior Center offerings; Provide an experience of value to everyone the Center serves. At the Center you find: a welcoming, friendly atmosphere; social and recreational activities; health & wellness programs; nutritious lunches in pleasant company; information about resources that serve the needs of seniors (e.g., care giving, support groups, transportation and more). The Senior Center aims to: Contribute to the physical, emotional, and social well-being of senior citizens; Offer opportunities for seniors to participate in community service; Involve seniors in the operation, decision-making, and annual planning for the Center; Provide periodic reviews to ensure that the needs of participants are being met and the Center’s goals are accomplished.
