Senior Centers located in your neighborhood serve to provide programs and activities accessible to you everyday in order to keep you active as you age. Staying active makes you stronger mentally and physically and is a great support to independent living. Times are changing and those who attend senior centers along with the activities being offered are changing right along with it, as well. You may think you have an idea of what goes on as you drive by, however, one will be amazed at the transformations taking place inside! With the large baby boom generation approaching retirement, senior centers will continue to develop new programs and opportunities to meet the needs and interests of those attending. Joining in with the centers activities will provide one with socialization and friendships through social interaction, stimulation, and a chance to get involved in your community. Contact with others can be made through clubs and activities for those persons sixty (60) years of age or older.
