The Nessler Senior Center was established in 1977 for citizens 55 years or older. Our program continues to focus on the needs and well-being of our seniors in the community by being a focal point where older adults in the Texas City, West Texas City, La Marque and surrounding areas can come together for services and activities that reflect their experience that respond to their diverse needs and interests, enhance their dignity, support their independence, and encourage their involvement in the center and the community. Our staff is eager to serve our seniors by listening to their concerns, encouraging positive thinking, and promoting self-esteem. By interacting in all activities we focus on the needs of the entire group as well as the needs of each of our seniors.

| Comment: | My family moved to Texas City in 1949. I lived in Texas City for over twenty years. I remember going to the Nessler Center in the early 1950s, a great place for young people to get together then. I am considering moving back to Texas City, looking forward to completing the full circle in life. I am over seventy years old and all my family in Texas City have passed away. A lot of great memories growing up there, looking forward to renewing them soon. |
