The Harlingen Senior Community Center by WellMed is in the heart of the city’s thriving medical community. The Center was founded in 2011 by the WellMed Charitable Foundation, in partnership with the Area Agency on Aging of the Lower Rio Grande Valley. The Harlingen Senior Center’s mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to support the social, emotional, physical, and health needs of the communities’ elderly aged 60 and above. | Comment: | I like to go exercise when everyone is at lunch, because I don't want to much noise or music. But sometimes the music is so loud you can't even hear your self talk. I asked if they could lower the music, but they said no. It is not a bar, it is a senior center. Older people don't like to much noise. If anyone wants loud music they can go to a bar or a dance hall. |
