About Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center - Cortland Senior Center

When you blend essential services, information and referrals with chair yoga, computer skills, and new friendships, you get BHNC’s Senior Program. This 40+ year old program serves over 1,000 multilingual residents annually. Residents age 60 and over or adults with disabilities of any age access food pantry services, health and wellness programs, and a wide range of referrals for qualifying City services. Others who live in and around Bernal Heights can drop into one of our two sites, Cortland Avenue or Excelsior, for classes of interest and trusted information. Our services are offered widely in English, Spanish, Mandarin and Cantonese.The Senior Program is one of our longest-standing initiatives, and this program is funded by the City of San Francisco’s Department of Disability and Aging Services. It regularly provides opportunities to gauge community needs and interests and incubate new program ideas.
