A variety of classes from art to exercise are offered each week. The most popular class is aerobics with strength training, where a combination of aerobic steps are integrated with strength resistance from exercise bands. Newer classes like Yoga and Zumba Gold are also offered, as well as familiar favorites such as Ceramics and Color Painting. Many travel opportunities are offered each year. Trips ranging from a one-day Eastern Shore crab feast to a week-long stay in Orlando, Florida, ensure you can find the perfect vacation. The Rosedale Senior Center opened September 16, 1974 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. In those early days the center operated two days a week as a Nutrition Lunch Plus site. As the years progressed, so did the center's programming, and it was moved to Rosedale Elementary School. In the summer of 1995, the school requested back the space the center occupied for classrooms. In January 1996, the current home of the Rosedale Senior Center was constructed as a 5,800-square-foot freestanding building on school grounds and the center opened a full five days a week. Today seniors at the Rosedale Senior Center pride themselves on being a part of a friendly center that loves to laugh. Special events always draw a crowd for great food and music. Some of these events include: Member Appreciation Lunch, Bull Roast, Father's Day Breakfast and the Crazy Fashion Show.
