He and several others spearheaded the movement to build Rancho Bernardo Community Park with its Recreation Center and the building that now houses the Ed Brown Center and the Rancho Bernardo Tennis Club. The Center was completed in 1989 and renamed in Ed’s honor in 2009 to thank him for his generous support and his long-time commitment to our community. The mission of the Ed Brown Center for Active Adults is to continually strive to connect and engage the people of Inland North County by providing the highest quality of unique programs, services and recreational activities. We serve nearly 400 active members in addition to providing services for the community-at-large, and we plan to improve and expand these services in a fiscally responsible manner so that the Center will remain a vital part of Inland North County for years to come. The Ed Brown Center is a gathering place for those who wish to participate in a variety of activities - both active and sedentary. It’s a place to meet friends and share the experiences of a lifetime - a place that gives everyone a chance to stay healthy, active and connected to life.
