Perry County Senior Citizens Service Center, Inc. is a 501(C)3 non-profit, formed in 1976 to provide nutrition, information and other services to seniors in Perry County. We are governed by our board of directors, with our own by-laws, policies and procedures. We are here to provide both congregate and homebound meals to seniors in Perry County, but our services reach far beyond just meals. Our seniors are served in a family atmosphere, where they form lasting friendship with each other and the staff. Our activities and special events are planned to enrich their physical and emotional well-being, keeping our seniors active and engaged. Our primary purpose is three-fold: Increase the ability of mobile seniors to meet their daily nutritional needs; Increase the ability of homebound seniors to stay safe and healthy, and be able to remain in their homes; Provide education and recreation to all seniors we. Our Senior Center serves congregate meals and delivers homebound meals 5 days a week to seniors in Perry County, MO. We offer frozen meals for the weekends to the homebound that need extra help. We deliver meals to the homebound each day, and provides them with nutrition education, puzzles to keep their minds active, notification of new programs that might be of assistance, and a friendly face each day. The activities at the center include an information and referral program, a thrift shop furnished with clothing and gift items, card games, chair-side aerobics, nutrition education, blood pressure clinics, dances, and help with taxes and paperwork. Perhaps our biggest contribution to our seniors is giving them the opportunity to remain social and active, which will keep them healthy and engaged in life. If you know a senior who is in need of nutrition, friendship and activities, please invite them to our center for a meal. We offer a salad bar everyday, along with a hot, nutritious meal, activities and lively conversation that will bring you back for more.
