The Council offers a broad range of programs, under the provisions of a state charter which was issued in May of 1972, as a private, non profit organization that provides social services for socially and economically needy, low-income, minority, handicapped, disabled, and/or at risk a elderly residents of West Baton Rouge Parish. WBRCOA receives federal, state and local funds and donations to provide various services. WBRCOA primary purpose is to be a community focal point where older persons can receive services and participate in activities which enhance their dignity, support their independence, and encourage their involvement in and with, the community. WBRCOA provides activities that reflect the experience and skills of our elderly citizens and respond to their diverse needs and interests.
