Our identity is Multi-cultural, Intergenerational and Ability-Diverse. We serve high need seniors with aging challenges, seniors of various cultures, adults of all ages with developmental disabilities and our participants' caregivers. CIS is a multi-program environment that promotes preventive health, diversity and community membership for people with aging challenges and disabilities. Our 3 main strands of service include Preventive Health programs, Lifelong Learning classes and Social Recreational opportunities. We also provide family respite, health education, care coordination and Independent Living Skills training. As a leader in the field of Preventive Health, we promote volunteerism amongst our membership; we place people with aging challenges and disabilities in positions of responsibility to operate our programs, understanding the value of productivity and usefulness in keeping one’s spirit alive.
