It is widely known that the nation is experiencing population aging. By 2030, 1 in 5 persons in the United States will be over the age of 65. This presents a great social challenge as we seek to meet the evolving needs of both the older adult and those that are participating in their care as caregivers. The purpose of the Senior Center is to promote the autonomy and independence of the older or disabled adult through supportive services. It is our goal to decrease premature institutionalization that can be costly both economically and emotionally. We meet this purpose by directly working with the older or disabled adult or alongside their caregiver(s).
