Comment: You have a wonderful facility on 21st street. I have been fortunate to participate in your activities during the winter months when I visit as a "snowbird". The new required $50 membership fee seems exorbitant. Some of us are only here for one month, add class fees and you have priced many seniors out of participation budgets. Perhaps your mission statement should state " to benefit the majority of the county's resident senior citizens." I am not alone in being felt unwelcome.

Comment: This is a copy of a letter which I sent at the end of December. No one has ever responded. Dear Mr. Fontaine, We are writing this as senior citizens, and as tax paying property owners of Horry County. We received notification that we would be charged an annual fee of fifty dollars each, rather than the twenty dollar fee that permanent residents would be charged, simply because we live here for just part of the year. We feel that this is grossly unfair. Our tax dollars help to support the seniors center. If we were renters in the area for the winter months this would make sense. We are not renters. We are tax paying property owners and have been since 2013. Also as seasonal residents and tax payers we pay three times what permanent residents do. We would like to continue to participate in the twice weekly yoga class, and to be treated with the same respect and consideration as other tax payers. Why are we being penalized? Thank you in advance for considering the information in this note. We look forward to your response. Sincerely, Betty and Bob Trethewey

Comment: Would give zero star if there was one to pick. This hospital and their care are terrible. My late husband was in there five years ago and fell, they didn’t answer his call for 20 minutes and when they finally did, they put him back in bed, as the nurses were having their weekly party on a Friday nite after all the guests were gone, instead of taking him to X-rays and calling a doctor to check him out they just put him to bed and took him down in morning after doctor made his round and noticed my husband was declining. He ended up with spinal injury. Then two months ago, husband had another injury and ambulance took him to grand strand and when I went to hospital they released him and nurse helped him back in car but instead of helping him he basically threw him in car. I still have blood stains on car from injuries this nurse caused let alone the injuries the nurse inflicted on him. He has since died.
